Bruce R. Crane

Managing Director, Borealis Infrastructure, NY

As Managing Director at Borealis Infrastructure, Bruce is responsible for sourcing and leading investment opportunities in the transportation and power-related infrastructure markets in the Americas. His asset management experiences include Chicago Skyway, GNL Quintero S.A. and Midland Cogeneration Venture.

Prior to joining Borealis, Bruce spent 10 years with UBS and Morgan Stanley, providing investment banking advisory services, and 4 years with Foster Wheeler as a field engineer.

Bruce holds a B.A.Sc. (Civil Engineering) from Lehigh University, and an MBA from Columbia University.

Thomas W. Elward

Chairman

Tom is an executive with over 40 years of experience that includes 18 years in nuclear power, which culminated as the Plant General Manager of the Big Rock Point Nuclear Plant, followed by 18 years of independent power and energy development, construction and operation as the President and CEO of CMS Generation and President and COO of CMS Enterprises, a wholly owned subsidiary of CMS Energy. Tom has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Dynegy, Inc. and a Director of the Board of Federal Mogul. He is active as Vice Chairman of the Foundation Board of the Detroit Society of St. Vincent de Paul and also previously served as a Director of the CMS Energy Foundation Board.

Tom’s career has included several accomplishments in the field of nuclear power, first as a nuclear engineer and subsequently as the plant general manager of a nuclear facility, to ultimately the total management of a world-wide independent energy company, owning and operating facilities on five continents. His most recent endeavors have focused on board-level participation.

Tom is a graduate of the University of Detroit with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Summa Cum Laude, and is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering. Additionally, he has completed the executive Program for Management Development (PMD) at the Harvard Business School.

Jean-Paul Marmoreo

Associate Director, Borealis Infrastructure, Toronto

As Associate Director, Asset Management at Borealis Infrastructure, Jean-Paul works with management teams at various portfolio companies to support strategy development. He is, or has been active with several investments for Borealis, including Bruce Power, DynaLIFE, Express Pipeline, a portfolio of long-term-care facilities, Midland Cogeneration Venture, North West Upgrading, a portfolio of schools in Nova Scotia, and Vento II. He is currently also a board member of CannAmm, DynaLIFE, and the Airports Worldwide portfolio. Jean-Paul previously worked at RBC where he provided analysis and recommendations related to corporate borrowings for Canadian and multinational energy companies.

Jean-Paul has an Honours Bachelors of Commerce and a Master in Economics from the University of Toronto. He also has an MBA from Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Thomas B. White

President, Buckingham Energy Consulting, LLC

As President at Buckingham Energy Consulting, LLC, Tom is responsible for all aspects of consulting services for clients in the energy sector. Tom has extensive experience in the power generation development, mergers and acquisitions, and operations business.

Tom most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of KGen Power Corporation from 2009 through 2016.

From 2006 to March 2009, Tom was a director at Stark Investments, a multi-strategy asset management firm, where he was responsible for the identification, evaluation, and closing on private equity type investments in physical energy assets and businesses, as well as supporting continuing asset management activities for investments made by Stark through the energy asset team and investment employed through other asset strategies including risk arbitrage and commodity hedging structures.

Previously, Tom was an officer and Managing Director at Marathon Capital, LLC, a boutique investment banking firm focusing on the power generation and renewable energy markets. At Marathon, Tom was the principal executive responsible for banking, origination and marketing activities that included the sourcing, evaluation, and closing of non-recourse financing structures for renewable and conventional energy assets and for managing financial consulting efforts with corporate clients in the acquisition and divesture of energy assets and portfolios in these markets.

Tom was a Senior Director, Development for Duke Energy North America from 2001 to 2002 and Vice President, Industrial Services for Duke Solutions, Inc. from 1997 to 2001.

Prior to 2001, Tom held various senior-level positions in independent power producer development and engineering entities.

Tom also serves as an Independent Director of Entegra Power Group and a Director of Lordstown Energy Center.

Tom was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois from 1983 to 2015. From 2004 to 2007, Tom was a Registered Representative and held Series 7 and Series 63 Licenses.

John A. Sabo

President and CEO, Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace

John serves as the President and CEO of Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace (OECM), a not-for-profit group procurement sourcing partner organization that serves the Ontario Education (School Board, College and University) sectors as well as other Broader Public Sector and Not-for-Profit organizations in Ontario, Canada. OECM currently facilitates over $200 million of annual collaborative spend amongst its partner customers and is targeting annual collaborative spend of $2.0 billion.

Prior to joining OECM, John served as the Treasurer and Associate Director of Corporate Services for the York Catholic District School Board, an organization he had been with since 1984. At the School Board he was responsible for the leadership, coordination, and effective operation of the Corporate Services Division and the support services offered through the Budget and Audit, Purchasing, Accounting, Payroll and Benefits, Facilities and Accommodation, Planning, Environmental, Transportation and the Administrative Services Departments of the Board. In addition, he provided support and oversight to the Information Systems and Human Resources Departments of the School Board.

John currently serves as a Board Director on the Southlake Regional Health Centre Hospital Board in a governance oversight role as Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Governance, Finance and Property, and Community Awareness Committees of the Board.

John previously served as a Director on the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) Administration Corporation Board for 13 years, having served on all committees of the Board as well as in various leadership roles including Chair of the Board, Chair of the Audit Committee, Vice-Chair of the Board, and Chair of the Global Strategic Investment Alliance. John also previously served as a Board Director of OECM in various capacities including Chair of the Audit and Resources Committee and Vice-Chair of the Board.

John was a founding member and an executive Board Director and vice-chair of both the Ontario School Boards Financing Corporation and the Catholic School Boards Services Association. As well as being actively involved in various Provincial school board business and finance committees and task forces, he was also a founding member and first chair of Council of Senior Business Officials of Ontario.

John is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Chartered Accountant designation. He has also earned and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, a Master’s Degree in Financial Accountability, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, a Chartered Director designation and an Audit Committee Certified designation.
