Doyle Beneby joined the MCV team in November 2018. He is an accomplished leader in the industry, with over 30 years of experience in traditional and renewable power generation, and electric and gas utilities. Prior to coming to MCV, he most recently served as CEO of New Generation Power International, a start-up, international energy company headquartered in Chicago, while concurrently serving as a corporate board Director for several publicly traded companies. Doyle also served as CEO and President of CPS Energy, the largest public electric and gas utility in the United States, and President of Exelon Power. Additionally, he has held several senior leadership positions at various utilities including PECO, Consumers Energy Company and Florida Power & Light. Doyle also serves as an independent Director for Capital Power Corporation, Korn Ferry and Quanta Services, as well as formerly a Director of Argonne National Laboratory, the University of Texas Energy Institute, and a Trustee on the Board of the University of Miami. Doyle formerly served as a board member for various foundations, charitable organizations, chambers of commerce, and research institutes.
Doyle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Montana Technical College and a Master of Business Administration from University of Miami.
Laurie Valasek has served as Chief Financial Officer, Vice President and Treasurer since February 2011 and prior to that held various positions within the Company’s Finance and Energy Supply and Marketing department since 1997. Laurie has 25 years experience in accounting and financial management and 17 years experience in the energy industry. Laurie leads the finance department at MCV that is responsible for all accounting and financial reporting, lender relations, loan compliance, treasury management, forecasts and budgets, financial analysis, tax compliance and risk management. Laurie received a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, Flint, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
Kevin Olling has served as Vice President of Energy Supply and Marketing since February 2006. He has held various positions within the Company’s Energy Supply and Marketing department since 1992. He is responsible for all of the Company’s gas supply and electric marketing activities. Prior to joining the Company, Kevin spent four years in public and private accounting and was the financial controller for Thompson Boat Company. Kevin received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Central Michigan University
Brian Vokal has served as the Vice President of Operations, Maintenance and Engineering since October 2012 and prior to that served as the Manager of Engineering since 2010. Brian has held various positions with the Company’s Engineering Department since 2000. Prior to joining MCV, he spent six years in the automotive industry as a Manufacturing Engineer. Brian received both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan.
Kelly Moldovan has served as the Director of Human Resources and Corporate Support since January of 2014 and prior to that served as the Manager of Human Resources (HR) since joining MCV in May of 2011. Kelly is responsible for all of the Company’s Human Resources and Corporate Support functions including; Records Management, Information Technology and Security. Before coming to MCV, Kelly worked as a Senior HR Manager for Lowes and has held many other HR positions over the past 10 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University
Charles Dunn has served as Corporate Legal Counsel since he joined the MCV team in November of 2013. Before coming to MCV, Charles was a Partner at the law firm of Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, P.C. located in Troy, Michigan. Charles has over 17 years of legal experience focusing in the areas of real estate, insurance, environmental, administrative and contract law. Charles also has many years of Engineering experience which he spent designing and implementing pollution control systems. Charles holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Michigan and a Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
